Research interests: Diversity policy in Canada and the US as well as labour policy, and immigration and settlement policy in Ontario.

Biography
Dr. Shanti Fernando, received her PhD in Political Science from Queen's University in 2003. Her area of concentration was Canadian politics. Dr. Fernando teaches in the area of social policy, public administration and political and social issues as they relate to concepts of equality and justice.
She has worked with students studying in the areas of community organizations, women's issues and issues surrounding the experiences of recent immigrants and youth who are trying to obtain greater access to the economic, political and social system.
